Passport to Independence
The Passport to Independence is a 12-week programme working towards a City and Guilds qualification.

What does it involve?
This programme allows you to develop the basic skills you need for independent living so that you can fulfil your potential. It combines practical skills such as decorating and cooking with theoretical training sessions. It is split into four modules, each lasting three weeks. Each module consists of two weeks of themed workshops, a short course such as First Aid, and a one-week project such as an activity day or day-trip. You will also be helped to plan your own way forward.
What’s in it for me?
You’ll be working towards a City and Guilds qualification. In the course of the programme you’ll also have the opportunity to gain these certificates:
• First Aid – Appointed Person
• Fire Safety in the Home
• Certificate in Basic Food Hygiene
What will I learn?
The modules on the programme include:
• Healthy living
• Setting up home
• Living in the community
• Literacy and communication
What else should I know?
This programme will provide you with the opportunity to learn new skills, gain a portfolio of up to 10 certificates, obtain support to find further training or employment, and have lots of fun! Your travel fares will be refunded.
