100 brave cold and rain in successful Sleep Easy event
Celebrating Achievement event 2011

A hundred people took part in YMCA Derbyshire’s Sleep Easy event over the night of 3rd March 2012 in the car park of Pride Park Stadium, braving near freezing temperatures and rain showers to make a powerful statement of their support for homeless people.

Mayor and Derby County Football Club support Sleep Easy
Celebrating Achievement event 2011

The Mayor of Derby has given his full support to YMCA Derbyshire’s Sleep Easy event on the night of 3rd March, while Derby County Football Club has lent its support by allowing the charity to use the car park at Pride Park Stadium as the venue with access to the stadium’s facilities.

YMCA Derbyshire wins award for inter-generational project
Celebrating Achievement event 2011

YMCA Derbyshire and partners Housing 21 have been named as winners in the first Awards for All Ages, presented yesterday at the House of Lords. They were recognised in the ‘Leading the Way’ category of the awards for helping young people into work through training in catering and social care at Handyside Court.

Mayor of Derby presents award at Celebration Event

The Mayor of Derby, Cllr Les Allen, has presented one of the prizes at YMCA Derbyshire’s 'Celebrating Achievement' event for staff and service users, and has thanked the local charity for its work. The event also saw the launch of the new YMCA Derbyshire Members' Reward Card.

School equipment specialists become Project 165 sponsors
TTS donating sports equipment

TTS Group Ltd, an East Midlands-based company specialising in the development and retail of a full range
of resources for schools, has become the first corporate sponsor of YMCA Derbyshire’s campaign to mark
its 165th anniversary by donating £200-worth of sports equipment.

Chesterfield comedy night to raise funds for YMCA

YMCA Derbyshire will be hosting a fun-filled night of comedy and entertainment featuring two top local comedians at The Riverside Club, Chesterfield on 15th October, starting at 8pm. All proceeds will go to a special fund to help YMCA service users in Chesterfield and the charity’s new Project 165 appeal.

A Community Cycle Safety Fun Day held at YMCA Derbyshire’s Campus for Learning and Development in Wilmorton, Derby, proved a great success for the many local people who came along. The event was funded

Mayor and Bishop endorse fundraising drive, Project 165

The new Mayor of Derby and the Bishop of Derby have both endorsed YMCA Derbyshire’s new fundraising appeal, launched this week. Called ‘Project 165’, the appeal marks the organisation’s
165th anniversary next year and reinforces its ongoing relationships with churches and the local community.
