Project 165 pamphlet

We are seeking 165 new partners – will you join us?

YMCA Derbyshire celebrates its 165th anniversary next year. In order to mark this milestone, we are launching a
partnership-building programme called Project 165. The appeal aims to recruit 165 new partners who can share
our work and our mission in a variety of ways – from financial support to donations in kind, and from raising awareness
of youth homelessness to praying for our work. The end goal is to ensure that we can maintain the provision of our
vital services and also our independence and identity.

Project 165 members can be individuals, churches, businesses or other groups. Each one will be valued as an
important member of the team and will be making a real difference to the lives of the young people we support.

Serving the people of Derbyshire continuously for 165 years
George Williams
Derby YMCA was founded in 1847 and has been serving the local community ever since.

The YMCA movement's founder, George Williams, even visited us in 1892 to open a new centre. As the door was ceremonially opened, Mr Williams expressed his “fervent hope” that it would “prove a door to hope, happiness and success”.

Since then we have continued to respond dynamically to the real and changing needs of the communities we serve, while remaining true to our unchanging values and vision.
